For most people, this feature works just fine, but things got a little complicated when I found out that the Downloads feature in Netflix doesn’t work if you have jailbroken iOS device.
Instead of crashing upon launch, I’m still able to open the application and watch shows as normal. But when the Downloads function is performed, the item just stuck in Queue and said “waiting for other downloads to finish.”
How to Fix Netflix Downloads Not Working?
After a quick browse around the r/Jailbreak community, a lot of people have experienced this problem as well. For those who haven’t jailbreak their iPhone yet, the Downloads feature seems to work just fine for them. As of right now, there isn’t a fix for this problem yet. I heard that someone is working on a Flex patch to fix Netflix blocking jailbroken device from downloading their shows.
If you can’t wait for a patch or a tweak to fix this issue, don’t forget you can always unjailbreak your device by updating to the latest firmware version (iOS 10)…
…or install Cydia Eraser. This tweak will put your iPhone or iPad back to its factory settings without updating to a new version of iOS.
Here’s how to use it:
- Download and Install Cydia Eraser from Cydia
- Open the app from your home screen
- Choose erase all data, unjailbreak device from the bottom of the screen
- Tap on Erase All
And wait until your device boot up with a Hello screen. Additional tips that rarely work for Download error (10016-LicenceRequestException) or similar errors for all devices.
